- The biogas project in Rusaifa is the first of its kind in the Middle East region with a capacity of 1 MW and expanded up to 3.5 MW in the year 2006.
- A capacity building and training program has been implemented with the following activities:
- Information Dissemination and Awareness in cooperation with Jordan Environment Society (JES).
- Solid Waste Recycling in cooperation with Jordan Environment Society (JES).
- Implementing a Training program for the country in which 243 engineers, technicians and environmentalists were trained.
- Curriculum modification and lab up-grading by JUST.
- Biogas and solid waste management master plan.
Training Courses in Biogas and Waste Management System
1 kW e electrical generation from Biogas Digester in small animal farms
The project aimed at the dissemination of biogas technology in small animal farms at cost effective methods. The prject is a demonstrative one and several farmers will be trained to design, install, and operate a 1 kWe bio -reactor.
Bio-diesl Generation from Jatropha Plants irrigated by Treated Waste Water
The project aimed at adaptation of agricultural patterns for Jatropha Curcas plantation and breeding for the purpose of generation Bio-diesel. The project is funded by the Higher Council for Science & Technology 2009-2011
Geothermal Applications in Zarqa Ma'in and Zara
The project aimed at building the capacity of National Center for Research and development \ ERP-Energy Research Program in thermal applications of hot geothermal resources like greenhouse heating, residential heating and fish farms. The project was funded by the Higher Council for Science & Technology 2006-2009.
