Photovoltaic Systems and Pumps Testing Laboratory
This laboratory is mainly used for testing, designing, simulating and optimizing photovoltaic systems. It has the following components and facilities:
Photovoltaic Generator Simulator. It generates any desired characteristics of the I-V curve from 5 W up to 10 kW
PV Pumping Test System. It allows testing different kinds of pumps used in PV systems of up to 10 kW size
PV-Systems Test Unit. The following configurations are included in this unit
Battery charging system
Stand-alone unit
Grid connected system
Bi-directional configuration
Electric Machine Set. By using the available machines, wind and diesel generators can be simulated. Each of the two sets has a DC-motor, one driving the asynchronous machine (15 kW) while the other drives the synchronous machine (23 kW).
